These trees begin in or focus upon Ontario County.   Unless indicated, all place names are in Ontario County.   Please note that this county has not existed since the early 1970s.   The southern portion and a portion of Durham County were amalgamated to form what we know today - Durham Region.   The northern townships of Ontario County, Rama and Mara, were transferred to Simcoe County.

Duncan M'Eachern was born November 10, 18488,9,10 in Victoria Co.   He married Martha Matilda Sinclair on December 27, 18812 in Cannington.   She was born December 18, 18593,8,9,10 in Ontario and died February 28, 19173 in Cannington.   Duncan was a 'merchant' in Cannington, they had the following children:

Hugh M'Eachern was born about 18512 in Eldon Township, Victoria Co.   He married Elizabeth Shane on March 1, 18742 in Port Perry.   She was born about 18512 in Reach Township.   Hugh was a mason.

Neil M'Eachern was born about 17974 in Scotland and came to Canada about 1841, he died October 14, 18753 in Eldon Township.   His wife Catherine Murdoch was born about 18044 in Islay, Scotland and died July 31, 18913 in Thorah.   Neil was a 'joiner'.   They had the following children:


Peter M'Eachren was born July 5, 18592,8,9 in Dunbarton, Scotland and came to Canada in 18669.   He married Belinda Hamilton on February 24, 18982 in Oakley Township.   Belinda was born October 10, 18772,8,9 in Uxbridge.   Peter was a lumber dealer.   They had the following children:


William M'Eachern was born February 27, 18679,10 in Ontario.   His wife Catherine McCaffery, widow Shields, was born November 12, 18549,10.   They resided in Mara Township and had the following children:


William Archibald M'Eachern was born about 18722,8,10 in Ontario.   He married Velma Dixon on July 7, 18972 in Beaverton.   She was born April 18762,8,10 in Eldon Township, Victoria Co.   William was a farmer, they had the following children:


Unknown M'Eachern was born ?? and died before 1901.   His wife Catherine was born February 18429,10 in Scotland and came to Canada in 18489.   They resided in Mara Township and had the following children:
