MANITOULIN   DISTRICT

Manitoulin Island was part of Algoma District until arount 1888 then became it's own District.   These trees begin in, or focus upon, Manitoulin Island.   Unless indicated, all place names are in Manitoulin Island

Dan M'Eachern was born about 18536 in Scotland.   His wife Sarah was born about 18586 in Scotland.   Dan was a farmer in Campbell Township.   They had the following children:

Donald M'Eachern was born February 10, 18246,7 in Scotland.   His wife, Mary Jane Rosell, was born January 12, 18413,6,7 in Ontario and died December 16, 19073 in Grimsthorpe.   Donald was a farmer in Grimsthorpe, they had the following children:

Duncan M'Eachern was born May 8, 18457 in Quebec.   His wife, Grace McCallum, was born December 4, 18437 in Quebec.   Duncan was a Presbyterian Minister.   They had the following children:

John N. M'Eachern was born May 24, 18551,3 in Proton, Grey Co. and died April 26, 19343 in Espanola.   He married Bridget Maria Doran on December 27, 18872 in Wiarton, Bruce Co.   She was born April 18633,9 in Caledon, Peel Co. and died April 4, 19573 at Riverview Hospital in Windsor, Essex Co., she is buried in Espanola.   They resided in Little Current and later removed to Espanola.
